The Switch Amplifier is a versatile 1-channel isolated barrier designed for use in hazardous environments. It supports a 24 V DC supply and is compatible with dry contact or NAMUR inputs.
The Switch Amplifier is part of the Pepperl+Fuchs portfolio of intrinsic safety barriers, specifically engineered to facilitate safe signal transmission in explosive atmospheres. This product provides essential isolation between field devices and control systems, ensuring that signals are transmitted without the risk of igniting flammable gases or dust. Its design incorporates a reliable isolated passive transistor output and an isolated passive fault output, both of which are non-polarized, allowing for seamless integration into a variety of applications.
Common applications of the Switch Amplifier include process automation, safety systems, and signal splitting tasks, where one input needs to be converted to multiple outputs. The device is equipped with line fault detection (LFD) capabilities, which enhance system reliability by identifying wiring faults. Additionally, the reversible mode of operation allows for flexible configuration to meet specific operational requirements, making it suitable for diverse industrial environments while adhering to safety standards up to SIL 2 according to IEC 61508.
