The Switch Amplifier product family from Pepperl+Fuchs is engineered to ensure safe signal transmission and processing in potentially explosive atmospheres. These devices are crucial for applications where intrinsic safety is a priority, providing isolation between field devices and control systems. The amplifiers are designed to accommodate both dry contact and NAMUR inputs, enabling seamless integration with various types of sensors and switches.
In addition to offering four relay contact outputs, the Switch Amplifier features line fault detection (LFD) to enhance system reliability and safety. With a supply voltage of 24 V DC, the device is bus powered, simplifying installation and reducing wiring complexity. Furthermore, its design is compliant with SIL 2 according to IEC 61508, making it suitable for applications that require a high level of functional safety.
