The Solenoid Driver is part of the Pepperl+Fuchs family of intrinsic safety barriers, engineered to provide safe and effective control in hazardous environments. These barriers ensure that connected devices can operate without posing a risk of ignition in potentially explosive atmospheres, making them ideal for use in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and pharmaceuticals.
This specific driver features a 2-channel isolated design that allows for either bus or loop-powered operation, accommodating diverse system configurations. With an output capacity of 40 mA at 12 V DC and a current limit of 55 mA, it supports a variety of applications requiring precise control of solenoids. Additionally, it incorporates line fault detection (LFD) capabilities, enhancing system reliability and safety.
Designed for high safety integrity levels, the Solenoid Driver can achieve up to SIL 2 when bus powered and up to SIL 3 when loop powered, in accordance with IEC 61508 standards. Its ability to handle contact or logic control inputs further increases its adaptability across different automation systems.
