The Universal Temperature Converter is a 2-channel isolated barrier designed for various temperature measurement applications. It supports thermocouples, RTDs, potentiometers, and voltage inputs, making it versatile for different industrial environments.
The Universal Temperature Converter is part of a comprehensive range of intrinsic safety barriers that are engineered to ensure safe signal transmission in hazardous environments. These devices are particularly crucial in applications where temperature measurement and control are essential, such as in chemical processing, oil and gas exploration, and other potentially explosive atmospheres.
Featuring a 24 V DC supply and the capability to function as a signal splitter, this converter allows for one input to be replicated across two outputs. It supports a variety of input types and provides a configurable current output in both sink and source mode. The integration of line fault detection (LFD) and sensor burnout detection enhances the reliability of the system, while compliance with SIL 2 according to IEC 61508/IEC 61511 standards ensures that it meets stringent safety requirements for industrial applications.
