The USB Intrinsic Safety Barrier is designed for reliable operation in potentially explosive environments, specifically in Zone 2 locations. It enables secure communication between USB devices, such as keyboards, and equipment operating in higher hazardous areas, namely Zone 1 and Zone 21. This barrier ensures that data transmission is not only efficient but also adheres to stringent safety standards required in explosive atmospheres.
Supporting two USB channels with data rates of up to 480 Mbit/s, this device facilitates seamless integration of peripheral devices while maintaining a maximum cable length of 10 meters—5 meters before and 5 meters after the device. The USB Intrinsic Safety Barrier is powered directly through the USB connection, eliminating the need for an additional power supply, thus simplifying installation and enhancing operational safety.
